Dell, Nvidia and Elastic Join Forces to Supercharge Dell AI Data Platform

Unlocking AI’s Potential by Breaking Data Silos

“The key to unlocking AI’s full potential lies in breaking down silos and simplifying access to enterprise data,” said Arthur Lewis, president of Dell’s Infrastructure Solutions Group. “Collaborating with industry leaders like Nvidia and Elastic to advance the Dell AI Data Platform will help organizations accelerate innovation and scale AI with confidence.”

The enhanced Dell AI Data Platform is designed to simplify the data journey. It automates the time-consuming data preparation process and brings natural language search to data lakes, making it easier for users to query vast repositories of structured (like databases) and unstructured data (like PDFs, videos, images) using everyday language.

The Power of Elastic Search and Nvidia Under the Hood

At the heart of this innovation lies the Elastic search vector database, a product of open-source search leader Elastic. This engine allows for semantic retrieval, which interprets the user’s intent rather than just matching keywords. It also offers vector search and hybrid retrieval, ensuring precise, context-aware access to information.

“Fast, accurate, and context-aware access to unstructured data is key to scaling enterprise AI,” said Ken Exner, chief product officer at Elastic. “With the Elastic search vector database at the heart of the Dell AI Data Platform’s unstructured data engine, Elastic will bring vector search and hybrid retrieval to a turnkey architecture.”

To further boost performance, the platform leverages GPU acceleration powered by Nvidia’s new RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPUs. These GPUs are integrated into Dell’s newly released PowerEdge R7725 and R770 servers, making the R7725 the first 2U server to adopt Nvidia’s AI Data Platform reference design. Dell’s PowerScale and ObjectScale storage arrays are also part of the validated infrastructure, offering scalable, high-throughput storage options to support AI applications.

“With Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 GPUs in new 2U Dell PowerEdge servers, organizations now have a power-efficient, accelerated computing platform to power AI applications and storage on NVIDIA Blackwell,” said Justin Boitano, vice president of enterprise AI at Nvidia.

A Trio of Engines Driving the Dell AI Data Platform

Dell’s AI Data Platform is powered by three specialized software engines each addressing a critical layer of the AI data pipeline:

1. Federated SQL Engine

Enables users to perform real-time queries across diverse data sources including data lakes, traditional databases and object stores  using standard SQL. This removes the need to move data, providing unified analysis and faster time-to-insight.

1. Unstructured Data Engine

Built on Elastic search, this engine provides full-text, semantic and vector searches across unstructured content. Whether it is documents, images or video files, users can retrieve relevant content instantly using natural language search.

1. Data Processing Engine

Based on Apache Spark, this engine powers real-time ETL (extract, transform, load) operations and supports the machine learning workflows needed to build and train models on-the-fly. It ensures data is clean, labeled and analytics-ready. Together, these engines form a cohesive, modular architecture that can adapt to various enterprise use cases, from customer support automation to predictive maintenance and beyond. This gives Dell AI data platform an edge over its competitors.

AI at Enterprise Scale: Turnkey and Ready

The result of this collaboration is a turnkey AI infrastructure that is ready for deployment across industries that rely on large volumes of data. Whether it is healthcare, finance, manufacturing or media, the Dell AI Data Platform provides a scalable, performance-optimized environment to build, train and deploy AI models, all while simplifying the way data is accessed and utilized.

In an era where organizations are inundated with petabytes of information, the Dell-Nvidia-Elastic trifecta offers a crucial breakthrough: a way to make enterprise AI practical, scalable and fast. As AI continues to evolve, partnerships like this are critical to bridging the gap between data complexity and business innovation. With this latest announcement, Dell AI data platform is positioning itself as a cornerstone in the infrastructure that powers tomorrow’s AI breakthroughs.
