Aternos Terraria Server Hosting: Powerful 3 Hosting Options

How to Make a Terraria Server?

Setting up your own Terraria server allows you to host multiplayer sessions, manage game settings, and create custom experiences. Here is how to do it:

1. Download Terraria Server Files:

First, you need to download the Terraria server files from the official Terraria website or through Steam. This will allow you to run the Terraria Game Server as a server host.

2. Set Up Port Forwarding:

For other players to connect to your server, you will need to set up port forwarding on your router. Terraria uses port 7777 by default, so you will want to ensure it is open for incoming connections.

3. Launch the Server:

Run the Terraria server application, and you will be prompted to select a world. You can either create a new world or load an existing one.

4. Invite Players:

After the server is up and running, share the server’s IP address with your friends so they can join the game.

5. Customize Server Settings:

Terraria server settings can be customized through the server’s control panel. You can set rules for player vs player, adjust world size, and more.

Terraria Server Hosting Options

When it comes to hosting a Terraria server, you have two main options: using a hosting provider or hosting it yourself. Here are some of the best ways to get started:

1. Paid Terraria Server Hosting:

If you don’t want to host the server on your own machine, there are many Terraria server hosting providers that offer low-latency servers. Some of the most popular options include Shockbyte, Nodecraft, and HostHorde. These providers offer different packages based on the number of players and server performance.

2. Free Terraria Server Hosting:

If you are looking for free options, some hosting providers offer trial periods or free, limited services. For example, Aternos offers free Terraria hosting with some limitations on server resources. This can be a good option for casual players who don’t need a full-time server.

3. Self-Hosting:

You can also run a Terraria server from your own computer. However, keep in mind that this may require a strong internet connection and capable hardware, especially if you are hosting many players.
